The SAHARA hostel is established by the brothers of BOURCHOK a few meters away from the sand dunes of “ERG CHEBBI” in the oasis famous by the shooting of many international films such as: the secrets of the Sahara, Marrakech on purpose, the operation condor, lion of the desert,… in this oasis, the highest palm trees in the region and the beautiful sand dunes which give a beautiful exceptional view particularly from the terrace of the inn from where you can see sun and where we can also sleep under the open sky full of stars…
Local oral legend states that the construction of Morocco’s largest erg “erg Chebbi” was god’s punishment for some wealthy families who refused to give shelter to a poor woman and her son during a local festival. They were buried in sand from storms which formed large dunes that are about 160m high.
Sand is good for patients with rheumatism, they bury themselves in hot sand in summer for a few minutes .
