In 1965, the Jeannot family took over this restaurant, which had been open since 1893, and made it a veritable institution in Essaouira and Morocco. Located by the sea, just above Essaouira’s seagull and gull beach, the menu offers typical Mediterranean cuisine. Crustaceans, sea urchins, prawns, squid, lobsters and whole fish are at the party. The waiters provide their advice under the watchful eye of Jeannot, the captain of the Chalet de la Plage. The room is “non-smoking”, for your comfort.
